Things to do in Ljubljana
- Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a beautiful small town situated on the river Ljubljanica that divides the city centre below the castle hill. River banks are filled with good restaurants and bars popular with visitors and locals alike. The town boasts the most relaxing atmosphere of all European capitals and offers endless cultural events and excellent quality of life.
The trademark of the city is the green dragon, which can be seen on the “Zmajski most”, in English it means the “Dragon bridge”.
The most spectacular sightseeing in the city is Ljubljana castle. It is a major tourist attraction and a picturesque venue for numerous cultural events including concerts, theatre performances, exhibitions, congresses and official receptions, which add a special flavour to the lively pulse of life in capital. You can go there by foot, car or you can take a tourist train that drives up to the castle.
Take a stroll in the vast Tivoli park, which extends practically into the very city centre, and enjoy the flowers of spring or the rich colours of foliage in autumn.
Go shopping at town's picturesque main open-air market, enjoy the view of the architect Jože Plecnik's majestic colonnade, and experience the hustle and bustle of city life in the morning.
Take tourist boats ride along the Ljubljanica river and see the city from a completely different angle. Visit some of city’s numerous museums and get acquainted with the dynamic history of Slovenia and its capital.

The Franciscan church built by the Augustinians, is today one of the symbols of the city due to its location at the main Preseren Square and its significant colour. Its triple stairway facing the Square has been a popular spot for street artists and anyone who likes to catch a feel for the city, having a great view of the Triple Bridge, the Square and locals strolling by.
The Triple Bridge is probably the most unusual and the most frequently crossed bridge in Ljubljana. It connects the main square and a newer part of town with the Old Town and the Market, which makes it an area with the greatest gathering of people. It got its final appearance when Joze Plecnik added the side pedestrian bridges to the existing main one in 1931. Offering you a view of the river Ljubljanica, Old Town, main square and the Market, Triple Bridge is a perfect place to stop and enjoy the city.
Preseren Square
It is the main square of Ljubljana, dedicated to the greatest Slovenian poet, Dr. France Preseren. His statue stands in the middle of the square and is surrounded by the finest seccesion buildings from the start of the 20th century. Connected by the Plecnik's Triple Bridge with the Old Town, Market and the river, it is a perfect spot to start your city exploration. Alternatively, it is a place to stop, have a cup of coffee and enjoy the view. Sitting on the statue steps is a good way to meet locals, as it is a popular spot for a chit-chat. Enjoy the sun, listen to street musicians and watch the locals stroll by.

- Bled Golf Course – Kings Course
Bled Golf Course first opened in 1937 and was redesigned by famous golf architect Donald Harradine in 1972. It’s the oldest Slovenian golf course and is said to be one of the most beautiful golf courses in central Europe.
The facility comprises the 18-hole King's Course and the 9-hole Lake Course. Bled Golf Course is set apart by its unique location overlooked by the highest of the Slovenian Alps and the wonderful countryside embracing it.
Harradine’s masterful achievement successfully incorporates all its natural features meaning most golfers may have to use every club in their bag. The glorious parkland course is set amongst Slovenia's highest mountains, allowing marvelous views of the Julian Alps, the Karavanke range, Mount Jelovica and the more distant Kamnik Alps.
The mighty Stol (2,236m), the highest peak of the Karavanke Alps adds special charm. The overall experience is excellent and well worth the journey from Ljubljana.

- Arboretum Golf Club
The Arboretum Golf Course, a par 71, provides enticing fairways in a picturesque pine wood between two small lakes. The course was opened in 2002 and attracts experienced players as well as beginners from both Slovenia and abroad.
This facility offers an additional nine putting greens and a driving range.
Thanks to its undulating terrain, the Arboretum Golf Course is exceptionally picturesque, which makes this a very worthwhile trip.

- Trnovo Golf Course Ljubljana
Trnovo Golf Course opened in spring 2007 and is located just outside Ljubljana’s city limits. It is a public course but for a nine hole course, Trnovo provides many thrills and spills using a number of different tee boxes to keep up the challenge for even the lowest of handicappers.
Trnovo Golf Course is around 1 hour from Hotel Gora.
